G7 Tax Agreement: A Good Deal?

The G7 Tax Deal has been welcomed in principle as a potential huge breakthrough in establishing global rules for a fairer tax system and tackling tax avoidance. But there are massive concerns over which companies will pay, how much and who will gain the most?

What’s the truth?

We’ve invited long standing tax justice campaigners and experts to answer these questions and to discuss what we now need to do to secure an effective tax deal at the G20.

John McDonnell will be joined by Daniela Gabor, Professor of Economics at the University of the West of England and expert in shadow banking; John Christensen, Chair of the Tax Justice Network and described by the Guardian as ‘the unlikely figurehead of a worldwide campaign against tax avoidance’; and academic and accountant Lord Prem Sikka.
